Secretly guided by a magical collective of beings called The Twenty-Two, a pair of young teens crack open the door to another reality
while dealing with the aftermath of divorce, loss, and their conflicted feelings for each other. Little do they know that they have also awakened the sleeping beast of their nemesis-to-be, the beyond evil Niem Vidalgo Oten.

“Mystery, fantasy, magic. YUMMY! I could not put this down.
This is a book of miracles meant just for me and you and everyone else...”a middle school librarian in Yorba Linda, CA(Shelfari review)

Presentations: All presentations include an author Q&A: Readings from The Journeys of John and Julia in Chapter One: Genesis (book 1), Readings from The Journeys of John and Julia in Chapter Two: Between Two Worlds (book 2), Discovering the Storyteller in You, Living in a Magical World, Finding the Hidden Magic in Challenging Situations.

I usually like to read a passage or two from the book, something that sets a mood, is topical, and sparks discussion. If students have read the book in advance of the visit, teachers and librarians may find my readers guide useful, or we can work with your own set of questions.

I am happy to tailor my presentations to the needs of teachers, librarians, and their students. We can focus student questions and discussions around creative writing; the book's concepts, story, and characters; or life/coming-of-age issues explored in the story. The Journeys of John and Julia is a series about growing up emotionally as well as physically and becoming a fully realized, responsible, and empowered young adult. John and Julia are deeply relatable, whether they are dealing with otherworldly encounters or facing the very earthly pressures of family, friends, and the bittersweet path to self-knowledge.

Here is a page on my site especially for parents, teachers, and librarians. It lists some of the parenting issues explored in The Journeys of John and Julia.
